ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Director of the BVI Hoop it up foundation, Mr Steve E. Parillon, is predicting a very high level of basketball for fans who come out to witness the exciting finals of the BVI Tropical Shootout at the Multi Purpose Sports Complex tonight, December 21, 2013.

Mr Parillon made a special appeal for fans to see Arkansas Little Rock come up against the high flying University of Southern Mississippi, which features BVIslander Norville 'Banana' Carey, for the Championship in what is expected to be action-packed.

"If you missed last night, there was a lot of excitement," Mr Parillon told Virgin Islands News Online in an exclusive interview earlier today, "the pace of the game is very fast, there are a lot of athletic players and there will be a lot of exciement."

Parrillon expressed that there was still a need for more local support as fans are able to participate in a rare moment once they attend the games.

"The teams came all the way from America to play these games that they could have played anywhere else in the world," Mr Parillon said, "but they chose the British Virgin Islands and I think that we owe it to them and to the BVI to show our support for this event."

As an added attraction, there will also be a special half time fashion show put on by Umi Fashions.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Basketball Events Management Ltd (BVI), Mr Glenn S. Harrigan encouraged fans to come out in their numbers, “We just want to have a large outpouring of support for the game tonight and we want a lot of BVIslanders to come out.”

Special concessions are also in place for the games ahead of this evening's play with reduced ticket prices across the board and the first 100 students or children's tickets will be free, compliments of CCT.

The Multi-Purpose Sports Complex Box Office opens at 1P.M. this afternoon.

Tickets for the event will be as follows:
Ground Floor $15.00
Upper Floor -   $10.00
High School Students (With ID) and Children - $5.00

IT's not about not supporting b/c of any one person's involvement. There is not much disposable $$$ in the BVI right now. People are struggling to eat so extras like this are less important. Maybe if it had come off at the original time it would've done better.
