Exclusive: Parents of man murdered in St Thomas speak out!
RVIPF had issued a wanted bulletin for the man who was last seen on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 driving a stolen vehicle near Scatliffe Alley by officers of the Criminal Investigations Department.
According to detectives from the Major Crime Bureau in St Thomas, officers responding to a report of shots fired found Kenroy Davis in the vicinity of Building 14, Tutu Housing Community, unresponsive with gunshot wounds to his body.
Speaking exclusively with Virgin Islands News Online Mr Davis and his wife Ms Desrie I. Davis related they learnt of the shooting death of their son after being contacted by a daughter Lorraine Davis, who resides in St Thomas. Relating what was told to them, they said Lorraine was alerted by a caller that her brother was found riddled with bullets.
“On her way to the scene is when she received a call from the police over there to come and identify the body, that is what she told us,” said Mrs Davis.
“If anybody got a child that is 100% good I want to meet them, we all as parents have challenges with our children no child is perfect,” said Mr Davis as he expressed much concern about never being told by the RVIPF that his son was wanted in connection with any crime locally.
The man said that he frequently spoke with his son who he said had migrated to St Thomas to live with his wife who is a born American. “It’s less than two weeks ago that we spoke to him, he was the usual Kenroy happy and everything ok,” recalled the couple.
They confirmed that they were told by Kenroy’s sibling that the police there were to have the postmortem conducted yesterday April 1, 2014 but up to post time they had no further word as to if that was done as scheduled.
He said despite what issues may surround their son, they would be bringing the body back to Tortola for burial. “No police better not come to me now because it’s too late, they never one day said he was a wanted man to me, I live here all the time and suddenly it all over the news that he was a wanted man, like it was some murder or some big crime they were claiming, wanted in connection of a stolen vehicle! Tell me something, I am his father, he ain’t fall from heaven,” lamented the grieving father.
Contacted yesterday afternoon about the allegations, Public Relations Officer of the RVIPF Ms Diane Drayton said that it is procedure that if any person is wanted for any crime the relevant investigating department usually contacts persons they feel can provide any information to assist in the investigation.

WTF?? The man's picture and story was plastered all over the news, what nonsense he talking about he didn't know he was wanted? Just like the sister called them about the murder, she could've called about him being wanted as she would've more than likely seen the story in the news. So he just happened to 'relocate' to St THomas around the same time he was wanted? Boo think everybody is a.. or what? RIP to the young man and I know it must hurt, but chatting s..t won't bring him back or change anything. Stop looking someone to blame and embrace your kids NOW! Why should RVIPF personally tell you that your son, a grown a.. man, an adult, is wanted? It was all over the news and everybody knew it. Man up and admit that you probably could have done more for that boy. He had issues from long ago but was left to roam up and down the place. Stop trying to blame others for your shortfalls man. All kids have some issue or the other but it's up to us to keep pressing on and stop blaming others. If it ain't Church, is Government, Police, School or Teacher fault. It's never our fault. nonsense.
That is the problem right there, parents always find excuses for their children. That statement alone tells that he knew his son was a trouble maker.
May God have mercy on your soul and may your son RIP forgive you.
Even if the police came to you, you would be here saying they are harassing you.
Poor police, cannot win.
