Ex DPP Rajbansie Out! Gov Duncan wants investigation over new contract!

- Three-month contract with Ministry of Health & Social Development on hold! Is John Duncan being vindictive?

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Word just reaching our newsroom from our senior sources within the National Democratic Party (NDP) is that the three month agreement between the former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Wayne L. Rajbansie and the Ministry of Health and Social Development (MH&SD), via the Permanent Secretary Mrs Petrona N. Davies, has been placed on hold.

The controversial former DPP has since left the Virgin Islands (VI) and given up his government sponsored McNamara house he was expected to reside in during his new agreement with the MH&SD after his contract was not renewed as DPP.

I was not fired, I walked away-Rajbansie

Mr Rajbansie, a Trinidad and Tobago national, has since denied that he was kicked out of a job with the VI Government but that he took the decision to write the Human Resources Department alerting them that he had no interest in a DPP contract renewal.

It was this news site that first and accurately reported on October 12, 2016 that he had landed a new consultancy assignment with the MH&SD headed by Minister Hon Ronnie W. Skelton, an At Large Member.

The former DPP was expected to conduct an assessment of the policy and legal frameworks and administrative arrangements related to sexual offences.

Governor angry; Wants process investigated

It has also come to our attention by the same senior NDP sources that the unpopular governor  John S. Duncan OBE, who has fallen out of favour with the public and the NDP administration, and is just in office waiting until he departs next year, now wants the process investigated on how Mr Rajbansie got the consultant job.

Sources close to the investigation dubbed it a ‘witch hunt’ to get after the most senior Permanent Secretary Mrs Petrona N. Davies and to block the former DPP.

Mr Duncan, who was caught by this news site lying to the public, has little or no credibility left in the Territory and his own integrity is in question, as he has no regards for law and order and the constitution, according to one of his biggest critics- talk show host Edmund G. Maduro.

Others have alleged the United Kingdom Governor may have been angry with the former DPP for saying publicly that there were qualified locals in his office who could have been appointed as DPP, a position that some claimed Mr Duncan pushed to have a UK national fill the post.

It remains unclear who is conducting the investigation as the letter obtained by our newsroom was copied to the Deputy Governor.

Efforts to reach PS Davies for a comment were not successful up to time of publication.

Double standards by Gov Duncan again?

Some have also alleged a double standard where, despite a ton of evidence of corruption, conflict of interest and no one looking out for tax payers from three sources- the Former Auditor General, the House of Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee and a former project Manager Hugh E. Darley- Governor Duncan has refused to call for a Commission of Inquiry over the Ports Development Project.

Mr Rajbansie in recent weeks have lashed out against the media, including  this news site, the current senior Magistrate Ms Tamia N. Richards and the decision to appoint Kim Hollis QC as the new DPP.

Because as all Tortola people once they get power they turn stupid with power and some of us use this excuse when we get in trouble who is cousin from who isn't so to me a balance in the legal system is fine by me but it all starts with us as a people to give up pride and live right which ain't going happen because Tortola people don't like to see their fellow tolians flourish and prosper

Why are we wishing evil on our people? Stop asking the Governor to bring our Country down. Let us move forward. If he didn't want to do further investigation then, why keep harping on it and rejoicing if our people are brought low.
United we must stand, and if we are divided, they will capture us again. Don't some understand the strategy of 'divide the people', then conquer them? Do not repeat the mistakes of the 'rattering' Houseslaves when there is a plan afoot to free the people from Colonial rule.

This waste of time governor quick to ask for this investigation but ignoring his duties to carry out investigations in the many corrupt acts of the NDP. He has sold out his integrity. By the way I agree with him just this one time.

Leave the man alone. Let him do what he came here to do, the problem is that we as BVIslanders do not like to hear when we are wrong and like to know that someone is better or more experience than us. I think he can contribute well here in the BVI. Just needs the right people.

It is high time the Governor rein in the NDP, and put a stop to their nonchalant, callous behavior. Thank you Governor Duncan. They are a law unto themselves. Next step the UK should impose DIRECT RULE.
