ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- It was all about an attitude of gratitude when students of the Elmore Stoutt High School came in for a treat from the Elmore Stoutt High School’s Department of English, Literature and Theatre Arts.

The Department’s first ever Student Appreciation Day was held on June 17, 2016.

“All year round the students support the English Department with their fundraising endeavors by purchasing water, snacks and baked goods; however, as a surprise to the students, in showing appreciation for their continued support, the students received these very same items they purchase all year for free from the Department,” said 7th Grade English Coordinator, Mr Ronn A. Grant.

Students flocked the tent as English teachers shared their baked goods and were able to choose from a varieties of goodies, including red velvet cake, chocolate cake, assorted cupcakes, assorted cookies and candies, all prepared by members of the English Department.

“As previously reported, the department holds its own in-house fundraising, which goes towards various imitative like the ILA Conference to be held in Boston this summer, and which ten teachers will be attending,” Mr Grant said.
