ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – A smashed rear window was what greeted Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) Acting Principal Wade W. Tobin when he returned to his vehicle which was parked behind the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex building in Road Town earlier today, December 10, 2013.

The incident reportedly took place around 10 A.M and officers from the Scenes of Crime Unit of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) were called to the scene and conducted investigations afterwards.

A small rock was recovered from the vehicle and it was suspected that it may have been used to break the glass of the Mitsubishi Jeep.

There were no reported witnesses and no suspects have been identified so far. There was also no indication that any items may have been stolen.

The Elmore Stoutt High School Principal declined to comment when approached by this news site.

Principal Tobin was at the time of the incident attending the 2012/2013 Honour Roll Awards Ceremony for the High School which was being held next door at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall.

To 'we need election now'...Every time something happened you blame government. Blame the parents who are not bringing up their children in the right way. They go to school and fight teachers and when they are disciplined, they do all kinds of unlawful things. I believe is one of those delinquents broke the principal's vehicle window.

Now this is exactly why I don't feel for these youths. I know I'm assuming it's a youth that did it but I'm 99.9% sure it was one of them. We keep giving them a free pass when they do wrong and make excuses for them but what we really need to do is show them tough love. Stop giving them free passes when they run afoul. I hope if they find out who did it they punish them to the full extent of the law. This is getting ridiculous now and someone is going to give those youths what they looking for very soon!

This is the out come of Throwing Kids out of school, yes they did their bad stuff but putting them on the road and not in school. They going to break and thief stuff. So when our microwaves go missing and other stuff goes we know who to blame. I'm a High School child and before you all label the school as bad as u all are saying .. take a week off from work and come in. Teacher absence, on Facebook, disrespecting study because they feel they higher than us and if we as students complain on a teacher we loose because the teacher is always right in the book. It also have times when this young teacher throw a knife at a student but u don't see these stuff on the news. All like the man Mr . S**** he suspense you for the smallest of things because he is a year head.

Mr. Tobin, hang in there...God is in control. I am not surprise at the response of people towards this incedent because what we put into our kids is what we get back and the sad thing is the kids don't lash out at the parents who failed to raise them right, they lash out at the community and those put in place to help them. What parents need to realize when kids go out in public they represent the home from which the come. Then when they end up in front the court the parents who raise these disrespectful kids are going to sit in court and cry begging the court to give them a break.

Who to blame? down the island people! Government! No! we are all in this together. A school reflects society and if parents, teachers, law enforcement officers cannot deal with a few outlaws-youths how in tarnishing name is the society going to get better. Stop sweeping issues under the rug "Natures little SECRET" Who will spill the beans on the vandals? The country is living up to its name. Too much behind closed doors decisions are made in SECRET !!! dis is killing the country. Too much wrong things in high places SECRET! SECRET!SECRET! Change the name!!!!

We have become very Americanised. Everybody free to do what he or she wants to do. When children are rude and out of place we don't think they should be punished. We find all kinds of excuses to justify their behaviour and believe it or not these children are smarter than we think.
The powers that be as well as the society are encouraging these children in their wrong doing. Some of the policies that they want to put in place will lead to the demise of this county. We need to start calling a spade a spade. The school is an institution that should help to instil discipline in our young people but many parents as well as some Ministry officials don't want these children to be disciplined. Just look at how difficult it was for the Minister to punish 7 young men who had been given chances upon chances but who were definitely not interested in changing their ways. Added to that, their actions warranted expulsion but the minister has decided to withdraw the expulsion. He should have left that alone. At least, he was compassionate. He decided that he was not going to let them fall by the way side so no one should quarrel with him. That would have been tough love but he flipped flop. This sends the wrong message to these young people and others looking on.
If we don't get serious with these young people, our country is going to go the same route some of our neighbouring islands have gone. We have already started to see the signs.
