SHEFFIELD, England, UK- Virgin Islands lone Olympic swimmer Elinah Phillip set a Personal Best and National Record in the 50M Freestyle when she competed at the Swim England National Winter Championships, which was held at Sheffield's Ponds Forge, England from December 13-17, 2017.
Bishop's Stortford High School Senior Elinah swam a PB of 26.19 in the Women's 50M Freestyle Final on December 14, 2017.
It was also a national record for the [British] Virgin Islands swimmer, who competed in the Women's 50 metre freestyle event at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Phillip was ranked 48th with a time of 26.26 going in to the Rio Olympics.
Meanwhile, Philip's 26.19 at the Swim England Winter Championships was good enough for 10th place in the final won by teenage sensation Kayla Sanchez, who clocked 25.29.
