Eileene L. Parsons refused to shake Hon Fahie’s hand & allegedly used profanity
This display took place in clear view and hearing of senior members of government who were sitting alongside Ms Parsons, along with others, including some members of the media.
Hon Fahie on a social network alleged that Ms Parsons told him, “Boy you better get the f**k from in front of me,” as he attempted to greet her.
The exchange happened moments before the start of the ceremony.
When contacted following the incident, Hon. Fahie hesitantly told this news site, “I don't intend to make this an issue because I intend to be always respectful to all despite our political differences. It is an unfortunate incident but no one will pull me into their storm but rather I will place them in my calm. All I responded to her is that God will take care of her and I moved on to greet the other Members of her party.”
Mrs. Parsons who many had regarded as a citizen of high integrity is now on the slide to losing her credibility in the Virgin Islands.
She was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2013, an honour lobbied for by her National Democratic Party (NDP) Government.
Many persons were not surprised of this. Since taking office in 2011 the NDP has created a culture of disrespect for residents and law and order. Some NDP elected Members often use their time in the House of Assembly to insult residents and businesses they do not like, and hate the local media.
The NDP has publicly on more than one occasion blasted international Water and Sewerage Company BiWater and Telecommunications giant Digicel.
In a statement on January 27, 2015 they again lashed out at the private sector this time local businessman James Todman of James Todman Construction Ltd., for receiving a contract to finish the Peebles Hospital. The reason for their hostility towards the private sector is unknown, however critics have said they want to pick winners and losers in the free market system and there are issues of conflict of interest.
Gloria A. Fahie on her Facebook page today posted this message: “I admire the late Hon. H Lavity Stoutt because in public he was classy, knew about public decorum and you could not tell if he had an enemy or not in this little nation. At an official function this was certainly not the case today. When one politician extended his hand in salutation, he was told at least twice "boy get the f__k from in front of me" in a loud manner. This type of behaviour is [abhorent] and it is very unbecoming of a lady especially one that could be my grandmother. Shame on you for behaving in this manner like you were in a fracas at a market place. My God what kind of example do you want to leave behind for others to follow? SHAME on you!”

It is a disgrace that the former "CULTURE" minister would use such foul language! This is a woman who was awarded the Order of The British Empire for heaven's sake! Is THIS our culture? Is this what we are to expect from our so called "leaders"? And people blame the "young" people for the moral collapse of our community. Strupes.
How on Earth are we to raise our children to be polite, respectful and to be respected when this is the sort of thing they hear from members of our (one time) political elite? I am no fan of Andrew Fahie but at least he carried himself as a gentleman.
I am absolutely disgusted. God help the British Virgin Islands. Lord knows we need it.
Word of advice Ms. Parsons, the next time Mr. Fahie extends his hand in greeting. A smile and a polite "no thank you" would achieve your goal of snubbing him while (possibly) improving the public's perception of you. The truck driver mouth is very unbecoming of a lady, let alone someone who was (at one time) a respected member of the House.
to much Jack D....ls( nothing personal hon fahie)
don't b an a.. fraser try to frig every local company in this place what's worse than that

"A true gentleman is one that apologizes anyways, even though he has not offended a lady intentionally. He is in a class all of his own because he knows the value of a woman's heart.” ( Mr. Fahie thank you for taking the high road).

Andrew really fix his mouth to say this today, after his behavior Saturday? Ms. P. is dead wrong if she did this especially if it was in public and loud, but Andrew you wear no halo.. both of you out of damn place.

Too bad that at this stage when the pressure is on, their true colors are shown.
They are corrupt and a disgrace to this place call BVI.
What would have been clever would be to ask the crowd "How many of you believe that our current government is being forthright with us?"
How many of you believe we are being told the truth in regards to ____ insert whatever you like here ___?"
"How many of you believe our tax dollars are being managed effectively?" … and so on.
He could have posed several very carefully worded questions and let people raise their hands in response. If the majority answered the way he had hoped they would answer, then he might say something like, "It would seem the people do not trust our current government." "Perhaps it's time for a change!" "Now that that's decided, let's party!"
Sadly, Andrew is often not very clever.
That being said and in my view, Ms. Parsons potty mouth places her several rungs below Andrew. Politics is a dirty game with winners and losers on both sides. If we are keeping score and comparing lemons to lemons, Andrew came out on top of that particular dog and pony show.
Ms. P is OBE and as a result, she should be held to task for her public comments in that light.
But when I reach 83 or 84, if I reach there, I will say whatever the bleep is on my mind. nobody better tell me ah ting! I earned the right to say what I want. LOL
Insulting you in public ,trying to put you on the spot with his insincerity day after and during his blasphemous betrayal..who does he think he is,Judas?
He could have walked in, said a general good morning to nobody in particular, and seat himself next to his friend or foe I don't know Frazer, stared straight ahead, while all eyes staring at him,now and then nodding his head and done with it.
All I have to say Jack a.. Dulcina is this election some going drop down dead with the kind of retarded attitude going on here and they suppose to be so educated and it just start. This one already lost two feet so only four to go to reach six feet and another already went to check out he heart. Who ain't got high blood pressure got heart problems and loosing body parts with the sugar cause this ting sweet a rasssss.
Look out for more to come because you see who start the verbal violence and they suppose to be OBE, honorable. and setting example. Sound more like another rebel to me.
The minister of ...... threatened several of the reporters who were present, that he would give them a oneway ticket out of the country if they ever publish this story.
Personal space is the region surrounding a person which they regard as psychologically theirs. Most people value their personal space and feel discomfort, anger, or anxiety when their personal space is encroached.[1] Permitting a person to enter personal space and entering somebody else’s personal space are indicators of perception of those people’s relationship.
If I ask you to get out of my personal space and you are not listening I have the right to scream at you so you can get the message.
