EAST END, Tortola, VI – He cried the tears, withstood the negative vibes by his own people of the Virgin Islands (VI) and had on several instances considered letting his dream remain just a dream but through the fervent prayer of his mother and the strong man in him today November 27, 2014 Levon A.H. Lettsome will be opening the doors of a facility that can be matched to none in the VI.

Mr Lettsome brings to East End and the rest of the VI Levaux Beauty Salon & Spa and Leviz Snackette to provide nothing but an exquisite taste, service and product. It is something that he had dreamt of for many years and after spending some time of his life in the United States he has returned home where he is otherwise gainfully employed in a respectable job, watching his dream come to reality.

“It was no easy road for me, I remain humbled, but I must say it was very surprising to me the level of discouragement and negative challenges I had to face from my own people as I pursued making this dream reality but I thank God for a praying mother who stood by me and the handful of others who encouraged me, today look my dream is now a reality, I am so nervous to know that tomorrow (today) this business will be officially opened to the public,” said an emotional Mr. Lettsome.

He added, "I am going to put this on record to say, I only wish that I had more of my own people supporting me instead of trying to distroy me. I am not saying this to offend anybody but that's the fact."

The facility is located in Long swamp in East End on the spot which once housed Brackwell Laundromat, obliquely opposite the East End Police Station on the Island of Tortola.

It is a facility that has been designed to meet the every need of a person that may enter the salon. Leviz is a snackette that will cater for the meal and snack needs of customers and others, while Levaux Beauty Salon and Spa comprises a massage parlour, a barber shop with two stations, a number of hair styling, manicure and pedicure stations, a lounge area and soon to be added a boutique.

“Everything I literally dreamt of, from the colour of the interior and exterior of the building, to the placement of the stations everything was done in specification to what I have been dreaming off and after two years of dreaming, voila, I know the people, my customers would be very pleased and appreciative of the quality of what we have here,” said Mr Lettsome.

He has a full complement of staff which he described as a team that has quickly bonded into a family and comprises of experts and professionals from the local and international scene.

According to Mr Lettsome all are invited to the official opening which takes place at 3:00pm today and tours would be accommodated until 7:00pm and thereafter Levaux Beauty Salon and Spa will be officially opened for business.

“One thing I want persons to know is that while I was encouraged by several persons to, I did not for one day walked into any salon or spa in the BVI to see what they have or what they do, I allowed my vision to guide me and persons can be very comfortable that what they will see here is nothing of pure vision compliments with some guidance from surfing the internet and from my international experiences,” he said.

You keep your head up and stay with your dream. I too know how our people are about being negative about everything, but like you said, "you need more of our people supporting you instead of destroying you. I will pray that your journey will be an easy and successful one. You are in a great location too. Much happiness to you and your staff.

Everyday we are seeing our young local people starting new businesses and doing big things, but some people want to convince you that the economy is not getting better slowly. Good luck in your venture.

The amount of businesses I see opening the last 2-3 years prove that under NDP the BVI is in the right direction.

The country is doing better than when VIP was in.

I second that motion. We will not listen to nonsense, we will look at the facts on the ground and make our decisions based on that. Construction is back up and running, reserves are being built up, we are controlling our finances, our schools and youth are getting attention. The only issue I have with this Government is their communication. They need to keep the people informed regularly and don't assume that we know stuff. Otherwise I think they are doing some good things and deserve another term.

Anyway don't want to turn it political, congrats Levar, I thought you left the island, haven't seen you in a while. That place looks classy and upscale, hope you can maintain it and wish you the best in your business endeavor.

This shows confident in the Government and this Territory. Every few weeks we see our young people stepping out and charting their own destiny. They will no longer settle for being employees, but rather owning their own piece of the BVI. I wonder if this is another satisfied customer of the Small Business Bureau? I would really like to know because I know of a few people who couldn't get funding elsewhere but got helped with the SBB.

Levor, we want you to know how proud we are of you, to see that you have made it to this new beginning in your life. The many prayers prayed have now been answered. We would like to encourage you to do your thing. Do it unapologetically. Don't be discouraged by criticism. You probable already know what they're going to say. Pay no mind to the fear of failure. It's far more valuable than success. Take ownership, take chances. Please keep in mind, that if you ever find yourself doubting how far you can go, remember how far you have come. Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome.

Remember ideas are like stars; you will not succeed in touching them with your hands. But like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them you will reach your destiny. Also, find encouragement in the following quotes of three of the world’s great political leaders:
    • "Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground." --Theodore Roosevelt
    • "Never give up on something you can't go a day without thinking about." --Winston Churchill
    • "It always seems impossible until it's done." --Nelson Mandela

We look forward to indulging in the great services being offered, as soon as we make it there. May God’s continuous blessing be in all that is done, and is to come, and let James 5:16 be your guide. Congratulations!!!
