ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Mr. G. Peter Edmunds last week completed his two-year contract as the BVI country manager for CIBC FirstCaribbean. This marked his final engagement with the bank.

“We thank Peter for his years of service to CIBC FirstCaribbean,” said Mark McIntyre, Managing Director for CIBC FirstCaribbean for Cayman & BVI. “He has been an invaluable member of the senior management team and his input and leadership at his various Caribbean posts have contributed to the  bank’s drive for excellence at all levels. We wish him every success in the future.”

McIntyre also announced that he will  will have oversight of the business unit’s operations until a new country manager is named.

Edmunds, who joined Barclays Bank in 1977, accrued a wealth of experience in high-level bank management. He transitioned to FirstCaribbean in 2002 when Barclays Bank PLC and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) combined their retail, corporate and offshore Caribbean banking operations to launch FirstCaribbean International Bank.

Emunds took up his post in the BVI in 2012 after a two-year stint as the Country Manager and Head of Corporate Banking in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Prior to that, he held country and senior managerial posts with the bank in his native St. Lucia, as well as the Cayman Islands, Dominica, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and The Turks & Caicos Islands. Edmunds plans to remain involved in the financial sector.
