- hints @ calling it quits

Over the past weeks, Maduro has been reading aloud sections of the Constitution with a view to educating persons of their rights and responsibilities and those of the Governor, the Premier and all elected members of the House of Assembly.  In those weeks too, the host of the often controversial talk show has accused the Constitution of being discriminatory as it seemingly protects the office of Governor from facing Prosecution while allowing the Premier and other elected officials to be prosecuted. Photo: VINO/Provided

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Radio talk show host Edmund G. Maduro last evening March 3, 2016, slammed the public for not calling into his show and supporting him as he tries to educate them on the Virgin Islands' Constitution.

He was speaking on his EGM Show on ZROD 103.7 FM when he made the statements lashing out at members of the public.

Over the past weeks, Maduro has been reading aloud sections of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order 2007 with a view to educating persons of their rights and responsibilities and those of the Governor, the Premier and all elected members of the House of Assembly.

In those weeks too, the host of the often controversial talk show has accused the Constitution of being discriminatory as it seemingly protects the office of the Governor from facing prosecution while allowing for the Premier and other elected officials to be prosecuted.

“Ladies and gentlemen I am kind of unhappy because over the months you do not call, you do not make suggestions you do not offer help,” he said.

“I feel that what I’m saying and what I’m doing may not be important to you anymore and I have to give it some serious consideration,” he said.

Maduro said he is putting his head on the block to assist persons in maintaining proper government “and you sitting down and allowing things to happen without standing up.”

He called for persons for be united in making sure that the Constitution of the Virgin Islands is upheld or else “divided we will fall.”

this comment is the truth. Edmond always right and if you disagree with his he cuts you off or insults you. No one else opinion matters. His interpretation of the Constitution or anything is always right. This is a democracy Mr. Maduro . You are to much of a dictator .

Edmund we can't support you when only your opinions matter. You drum to your own beat, so sorry can't support you. When people call your show and they don't say what you want to hear, you cut them off. You are a poor excuse as a moderator.

Mr. Maduro often has some very good points to make. Unfortunately, they get lost in the drama because there is no reasoning with him. As others have stated, he is exceptionally rude to callers that don't agree with his point of view. Nobody likes to be abused, disrespected, ignored or considered irrelevant and I suspect Mr. Maduro is feeling many of those things.

What goes around comes around and chickens always come home to roost. Perhaps if Mr. Maduro showed more tolerance towards others, more people would listen to his show and participate by calling in. I stopped listening a long time ago as I find his intolerance and rudeness far too offensive.

I hope the nation realizes that change that the NDP promised has not come overnight nor with the stroke of a legislative pen. Fraser was the man to lead we BVI . Next elections lets give Fraser the opportunity to make a difference and make the BVI again, the standard of good governance, educated people and strong ethics and moral fiber not just a place with extraordinary NDP rich friends getting richer.
