Duo in ferry gun & ammo bust to stand trial March 2
The men were expected to stand trial separately, but now the Crown Counsel has announced they will be tried together on March 2, 2012.
At a previous court appearance Allen, 41, has pleaded not guilty to one count of unlawful importation of a firearm, one count of unlawful importation of explosives, one count of unlawful possession of explosives and one count of possession of a prohibitive firearm.
He was offered bail in the sum of $50,000 signed surety, has to surrender his passport, and report to the Road Town Police Station daily between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

According to court records, at around 4:30 p.m. on August 11, 2011, Bomba Charger departed Charlotte Amalie bound for Tortola. The vessel arrived around 5:45 at the Road Town jetty where Allen, who was a passenger, disembarked and proceeded to clear Customs and Immigration.
During a routine search of the vessel carried out by Customs officers and the K 9 Unit, they found a large Home Depot box containing an assault rifle, one Glock pistol, 250 live rounds of ammunition for the rifle and 21 live rounds for an AK 47 in one of the bathrooms.
When crew members were questioned, Thaxter came forward and stated that an individual asked him to hold the box until the vessel was docked and then would retrieve it.
