ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Information reaching Virgin Islands News Online suggests that a driver is likely to be charged shortly for the three vehicle smash-up that occurred in the vicinity of the Road Town police station on December 13, 2011.

According to sources, investigations are still ongoing but sooner than later the driver that allegedly caused the accident could be charged for reckless driving.

The accident, which occurred around 11:46 am on December 13, resulted in one of the drivers sustaining minor injuries.

In light of this, the question arose of the necessity for traffic lights to be installed in the area, since traffic flows in four directions.

I agree they need to tell who da driver is. The one thing I don't understand is how the paper word this information. The driver could be charged with reckless driving? Does it mean there is a possibility that he won't be charged? If he is the reason for this accident he need to be more that charged. From the looks of the picture it looks like he couldn't wait his turn and decided to be the first one.

That tree ain in nobody way, dem better leave it alone. It is not obstructing traffic in any way. Look at the accident scene!!!!!!!! How does that tree have anything to do with that accident???? That tree could drive better than all three drivers, LEAVE IT ALONE

traffic light in that area will cause a bigger problem in my view. What will happen when the school rush starts back. When the light says green on one end it's red on the other end. When people need to get in to Althea Scatliffe the traffic is backed up on the high way. The other problem is the traffic heading towards the High School there is also in a state and needs attendtion as well. Suggestion would be to look at a possiblity of moving the school from there, have a traffic officer on duty until at least 5:00 or cut down the biggggg tamarind tree.

I agree with you Lil Girl about not putting lights but a small roundabout would be a better option. Hope NDP can look at this option if this happens the tree will have to go.

NDP, don't mind these people, some of them don't know the significance of that tree, the historic land mark, the sentimental value of that tree, but you do. LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!! No one can prove to me that any accident that has ever happened in that area was cause by the obstruction of that tree, It would have been gone longggggg time, Leave the bloody tree alone!!!! and to "lil Girl", move Althea Scatliffe school in you back yard.
