Dreams do come true! VI’s Ashley N. Kelly goes with the Flow

SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI – Athlete Ashley N. Kelly was formally introduced as the latest Brand Ambassador for Flow, the telecommunications company that was formally known as LIME, on Wednesday July 22, 2016 at its corporate offices in Palestina.

Chief Executive Officer of Flow, Tim R. Ringsdore welcomed soon to be the latest of a growing band of Olympians from the territory, Kelly, to Flow.

“It is a pleasure to be here today and we are delighted to be able to support her in her quest to the Olympic Games, Rio 2016. Flow is a big supporter of the community in many ways and sports is one of our key areas, so we are delighted to assist her achieve her goals.”

Kelly, who combined qualifying for her first Olympic Games with completing her Masters in New York, has a busy build up planned towards the Games.

“It’s a bit of a cliché,” she said “but I really am living a dream and doing things now that I saw myself achieving as a child. I’m looking forward to preparing for the Games and also some races, including the OECS Championships to be hosted by the BVI in the 50 days to Rio and am excited to be a part of the Flow team. It is a really great opportunity and to have the support of and be an Ambassador for Flow.”

Whilst everyone was tight lipped on the value of the sponsorship, Kelly acknowledged that it would give her a cushion to prepare for the games and supplement the support of her parents, the British Virgin Islands Olympic Committee and the BVI Athletics Association.

‘Excited’ to be a part of Flow team

“I must pay tribute to my late grandmother, Rita Stoutt, who really believed that I would be an Olympian and my parents, who continued to push me to fulfill my dreams. I hope to showcase the goals and initiatives of Flow in the BVI and across the region. I will be a part of anything they need and am excited to be part of their team. Financial support is really great as being a professional athlete is a grind with all the travel, medical support, and now it will be a lot easier as I have a cushion.”

Ringsdore noted that Flow has a corporate social responsibility to the community and this partnership with Kelly will be a good way to show support for the local people and their quest to achieve their aims, while helping to get the brand out there in the communities.

Part of a regional imitative, Flow will have a presence on the ground at Rio, Brazil to showcase [British] Virgin Islands and Caribbean Flow Ambassadors and the company will be providing exclusive coverage via Flow TV to its subscribers.
