BASSETERRE, St Kitts & Nevis, WI- It was a couple hours ago this evening February 18, 2015 that Dr Timothy S. Harris was sworn in as St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister.

This news site was the first to tell the region and the world that Dr Harris would be sworn in today. The sidewalks outside of Government House in Basseterre, the Capital City of St Kitts, were packed on Wednesday afternoon as thousands of supporters thronged to witness Prime Minister Hon Dr Timothy S. Harris take the oath of office during a ceremony officiated by Governor General Sir Edmund W. Lawrence.

Prime Minister Harris, who campaigned on giving St Kitts and Nevis a “fresh start”, was sworn in as the 3rd Prime Minister of the twin island Federation two days after leading the historic alliance Team Unity to a victory at the February 16, 2015 polls.

Speaking moments ago exclusively to Virgin Islands News Online, Dr Harris thanked the people of St Kitts and Nevis and Nationals of the Federation living abroad for making it possible for a new day for the Federation.

He promised to strive to “live up to the commitment to Restoring Democracy and Promoting Prosperity in St Kitts and Nevis and I invite all the people to join our cause”.

The Team Unity alliance won 7 of 11 seats in a near landslide over the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party and Nevis Reformation Party coalition led by former long time and controversial Prime Minister Dr Denzil L. Douglas.

Dr Harris was sworn in, along with new Attorney General Vincent Byron Jr.

This article is about the swearing in of the new prime minister in St. Kitts and Nevis. This is not about NDP and VIP. Bloggers should restrict their blogs to the subject. It is obvious there is an agenda, but be mindful about the law of attraction, the thing that you bash about the most will come about, because where you give the most energy would bring an outcome. Energy to NDP -- victory will be the result. Learn the rules of the law of attraction. Energy flows where attention goes.

SKN really need a fresh start and the start will be with this new govt of Team Unity. The electoral battle is over for now. Most of us said this battle was the Lord's.Now it is time for us to go forward,it won't be an easy road ahead but we just need to work together for the good of all. The govt will have to look at the available resources and see how feasible things are to move forward. One has to take into consideration the humongous debt owed to the IMF,the SIDF that was used to prop up the former govt campaigns, programs, etc.Congrats to all elected and unelected representatives of Team Unity and the present opposition and yes the sweet and nice people of SKN.Let freedom reigns

Douglas was in power for 20 years......and all his arrogance and god like complex led him to believe that this could never happen...because if he had thought for 2 seconds that this would happen, he would never have been as shocked and dismayed as he was to the point of completely taking leave of his senses to say that they must stop the count of the election votes, as that was completely out of his control......that's what you get when think you are above the law....
