ROAD TOWN, Tortola,VI- Founder and Director of the CADA Players, Joanne Penney has urged women to not judge victims of violence, but assist them to find their voice, and stand up to their abusers.

Penney’s remarks came following a dance performance in observance of V-Day- Victory over violence against women, celebrated globally in over 200 countries, on Tuesday February 14, 2017, at Bobby’s Parking lot in Road Town.

This is their fourth consecutive time undertaking the initiative, which coincided with the many shoppers who sought last-minute gifts for their loved ones in the internationally known day for love- Valentine’s.

“So today we are not alone, ladies, you have joined millions of women who are dancing all over the world, to stand up, to shout out and find their voice and say enough is enough, it has to stop,” she said.

Help a victim, judge not

“We are here for solidarity, to remember that we are all sisters and when you see your sister trying to stand up, you stand up with her. If she is having trouble standing up, you help her up, if she has lost her voice, help her find her voice, if she has lost her voice, you speak for her and if you find yourself sitting in that throne of judgement, I want you to get up off your backside and move over to the throne of kindness, which I understand is much softer [as] it has pillows,” Penney remarked.

Learn how to get along

The Director of the CADA Players pointed out that this planet is inhabited equally by men and women and if everyone does not learn how to partner “we are lost”.

She continued, “We see greed, we see hate, we see much violence everywhere. So we must get together, treat each other with kindness and respect and be partners. Break the chain, victory over violence against women and girls, because one in three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in their lifetime  and that is one in three women right here, so we got to stand up, we got to shout out.”

Domestic Violence against women is very real and certainly no secret in ‘nature’s little secret’ as continues to be reported by Family Support Network (FSN).

My lady with all due respect. Women are not all that innocent. Young women has now become just as or more aggressive than young men. I'm shock and often ask myself are all this anger from these ladies coming from..

You are a woman but you don't understand women.. let a man tell you about women. A man will do 99 good for a woman and 1 bad and she will make sure the world knows about that one bad... Now a woman will do a man 99 bad and 1 good and no one knows but when that 1 good turn to bad that makes the bad 100 percent bad and the man react then the man is still lwrong... The system has created a lose lose relationship situation for men... Keep it fair. Keep it real.

What does the caption say? Do not judge female victims of violence. Stick to the issue at hand. There are women who actually suffer and do not fight back.

People always want to stray from the topic that you miss the message.

Some ppl are so small minded its a shame. Do u guys ever stop to thnk about the bigger picture, this is not about just u, or the females in your neighborhood, or the country that you live in and its culture. It is a movement for women across the globe, women who are enslaved by violence due to religious restraints, women who are targeted for no reason, women who fall victims to senseless, sick and perverted crimes, young girls who are abused by strangers and loved ones alike. What about the women who are ridiculed because of the stereotype of their nation, what about young girls being sold into trafficking, what about young girls being traded off to old grown men to be married, what about the racism that has plagued women of the world.

What will u say, the infant child provoked someone to molest her, or the 12 year old girl asked someone to kidnap and murder her, or the wife deserved getting her face smashed in because it was by her husband. Sometime yal need to stop being so self centered. We are all human and no one is saying that there aren't women who induce violence on themselves but IT IS NOT ABOUT THAT!. The world is much bigger and there is much more going on that just what u see when u look outside your window. This event was happening at the same time in countries and cities all over the world in support of a cause and all yal can say is "oh woman ain so perfect"...my my my, I shake my head in shame.

It's a given that men don't understand women. Women understand women. That's why they hate each other.
