ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The 5th Annual VIBD Basketball District King League has reached the Championship Game stage after some thrilling Play Offs, which were staged last weekend at the Multi Purpose Sports Complex, with District 3 just missing out on a trio of appearances in next Saturday’s Finals.

On Saturday May 3, 2014 two teams from District 3 under the stewardship of the Sea Cow's Bay Basketball Club will compete for 2 of 3 age group championships in the 10 and under and 11-13 yr old division in the VIBD District King League at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

District 8 and 4 will compete in the 14-16 yr old category. Games begin at 10:00 am.

In the Play Offs held Friday April 25, 2014 and Saturday April 26, 2014 and in the U10 Division, the Spurs beat the Celtics 10-4 and the Hawks beat the Bulls 18-5.

In the 11-13 Division, District 3 beat District 6, 31-23 on the back of 8 points from Timothy Louis and Ajai Frett. Malacki Thomas scored 17 points for District 6.

District 5 beat District 4 25-18 with 11 points from J'Quan Bodkin and District 3 secured the place in the Championship game with a 25-19 victory over District 8.

K'Andre Clarke scored 9 points, Frett 6 and Deondre Penn 4, whilst for District 8 Joy Victor scored 7 and Makhalyla Pickering 6.

District 9 then concluded the match ups with a 29-11 win over District 5 with 8 points apiece for Jehlani Leonard and Stephan Paul.

The 14-16 Division was marred by forfeitures as neither District 5 nor District 6 was ready by game time so both District 9 and 3 progressed.

However both then fell in the "semi finals" with losses to District 8 and 4 respectively.

District 9 went down to 8 41-40 with Kakeem Penn scoring 19 points for the 8's, whilst Stephon Caul scored 16 for VG. District 4 outscored the Sea Cows Bay Boys 34-30 with Jachoy Walwyn scoring 20 points for the Road Town team and Akeem Nibbs finishing with 10 for District 3.
