Digicel's cost of services reduced by 20% since 2008 – CEO Conor Looney
Looney was speaking yesterday July 30, 2014 at the start of the two-day Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) Open House being held at Maria’s By The Sea.
He said although Digicel is the most recent communications company to launch in the Virgin Islands, they have made a significant contribution to the Territory over the last six years.
“We have invested over $24 million to build a world class technological infrastructure making it easy for citizens to connect and companies to do business both locally and internationally,” he said.
“We may be the newest operator in this Territory however from our launch in November 2008 we actually reduced the cost of communication 20 percent from launch and consistently over the six years we have offered great value to mobile customers and also our corporate customers,” he said.
“We brought significant benefits to customers into the country…our customers see the difference of consistently great value, reliable network and excellent customer service,” he said.
Looney takes over from former CEO Declan Cassidy, who is going to Miami, Florida, USA, to head Digicel's operations there.
