ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Digicel BVI yesterday (Friday March 28, 2014) proudly announced the expansion of its 4G network meaning customers in the Road Town and Jost Van Dyke areas can now experience even faster and more reliable 4G internet on their mobile phones.

The new sites will deliver even greater capacity to customers – which translates to faster speeds for image downloads, video streaming, content sharing, web browsing and keeping up to date with friends and family on Facebook, twitter, Instagram and other social networking sites.

“Since our launch in the BVI, we have continued to deliver on our commitment of best network – and with the launch of our 4G network in November 2012 – we took it to the next level. With this latest 4G network expansion, we are delivering even greater speeds, capacity and reliability – ensuring our customers are getting the service they deserve,” said Digicel BVI CEO, Declan Cassidy.

“The implementation of two new 4G sites is only the beginning of our long term strategy for our family of customers across the BVI. As the leading provider of LTE (“Long Term Evolution”) services in the Caribbean region, Digicel is committed to providing effective and affordable LTE services to the people of the BVI,” continued Cassidy.

Digicel has successfully launched LTE networks in Antigua and Barbuda and in the Cayman Islands. Digicel BVI awaits confirmation by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (“TRC”) of the process to be adopted in the BVI for the allocation of spectrum to be used to roll out LTE.
