ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – With the Easter season on the heels and school being out for that celebratory time, founder of Write To Read Ms Sharie B. de Castro has teamed up with her fellow educator and twin sister Sharia de Castro to create a programme that is designed to have children gainfully occupied as their parents head off to work.

The programme set to begin on March 30, 2015 is titled ‘Eggs-perts Easter Camp’. “Parents and children alike can get egg-cited for the Easter Break. My sister Sharia and I have teamed up to create an eggs-traordinary learning eggs-perience for children in the BVI. Our dedication to education and youth development continues with a new and innovative approach that is guaranteed to help children break out of their shells and achieve their full potential,” Ms de Castro told this news site as she said with limited space being available persons should rush to sign their child/children up for ‘Eggs-perts’ Easter Camp at their earliest.

"Our dedication to education and youth development continues with a new and innovative approach that is guaranteed to help children break out of their shells and achieve their full potential,” Ms deCastro told this news site as she noted that with limited space being available parents should rush to sign their child/children up as early as possible.

The programme targets children ages 5 years to 16 years old. “We are certain that this camp is eggs-actly what parents and children need and have been hoping for.”

Write-to-read programme a success story

According to Ms de Castro, the Write To Read programme has given her much hope for children of the VI as many have been showing remarkable improvement in their reading and comprehension skills. Sharia de Castro, shared her "eggs-citement" for the new initiative as well, stating that she too is currently developing a programme that primarily focuses on critical thinking and creative writing which she hopes to launch very soon. "Reading, Writing and Critical Thinking are three skills which many of our children struggle with in the everyday classroom, hence our Eggs-perts initiative. Some children just need that little extra push and individual attention and we are ready, willing and qualified to give it".

The Easter programme is set for March 30 to April 10, excluding Good Friday and Easter Monday and starts from 9:00am and ends at 4:00pm daily. “We will have this eggs-pert eggs-perience at the Write to Read school located on the 3rd floor of the E.A Creque Building at the intersection of Flemming and Main streets in Road Town,” Ms deCastro noted.

Benefits of Easter programme

The core areas of the programme are primarily geared at focusing on developing "Eggs-pert" readers, "Eggs-pert" writers and "Eggs-pert" thinkers, “Also because it would not be a BREAK without some eggs-tra fun, children will enjoy Zumba Eggs-ercise, Science Eggs-periments, Hip HOP Music & Dance, Eggs-press Yourself Art and Eggs-citing Field Trips. You can also look forward to some of the eggs-tra special treats that Eggs-perts will experience.”

Boys & Girls Day

The former Miss BVI said there will be a Boys' Day at Al's Marine to see/help technicians work on car and later to play basketball.

For the Girls' Day, campers would spend time at One Stop Mall Nail Salon for a mini spa day and Self Care Session with Makeup by Tek-9 Cosmetics.

Ms deCastro further said, “And eggs-clusively at Eggs-perts Easter Camp, Eggs-perts will eggs-perience breaking stereotypes in the job world with Girls in a "Boy's World" and Boys in a "Girl's World" where girls will see a female technician at work while boys will eggs-perience a male chef cooking.”

Easter Eggs-travaganza

The two weeks of camp will culminate with an Easter Eggs-travaganza on Saturday April 11, 2015. This is promised to be an "egg-stremely" fun day for family and friends and an invitation is "eggs-tended" to the entire Virgin Islands.

“Parents, if an egg is broken by an outside source, life ends. If an egg is broken by an inside source, life begins. Great things happen from the inside. Give your child a chance to become the Eggs-pert they were created to be. Give them the opportunity to receive a holistic educational eggs-perience that is guaranteed to help hatch the greatness that is within them,” said Ms deCastro

For more information and registration persons can call 441-5592 or 442-7335.

“Get crackin'! Spaces are limited!” Ms deCastro reminded.

It is about helping our children and young people how to read and comprehend. Good job to the sisters who are making a difference in the way children should be taught. A skill that some of our young children did not received in their early learning of life. Keep up the good work in teaching the most important skill of READING.

It's funny how Christians would even support anything related to the Pagan farce that has become Easter.
