‎de Castro twins to host 2nd annual Easter Break Educational 'Eggs-perience' for VI Children

With the Easter season soon upon us and school being out for that celebratory time, Ms Sharie B. de Castro has teamed up with her fellow educator and twin sister Sharia de Castro for their second annual ‘Eggs-perts Easter Camp’; a programme that is designed to have children gainfully occupied as their parents head off to work. ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – With the Easter season soon upon us and school being out for that celebratory time, Ms Sharie B. de Castro has teamed up with her fellow educator and twin sister Sharia B. de Castro for their second annual ‘Eggs-perts Easter Camp’; a programme that is designed to have children gainfully occupied as their parents head off to work.

The programme is set to begin on March 29, 2016 and targets children ages 5-16 and will focus on literacy in a fun and creative environment.

Speaking with this news site, founder of Write to Read Sharie B. de Castro explained the need for the programme by saying, “As educators we have realised the challenges that students have with reading fluency and comprehension.”

She said as a result, their after school classes, as well as camps such as this one are created to bridge the gap by giving children the additional instruction and intervention they require. “The Easter time is an ideal time to receive this remediation because children are transitioning into the final term of the school year,” said de Castro.

Ms de Castro stated that with limited spaces left, persons should rush to sign their children up for ‘Eggs-perts’ Easter Camp at their earliest.

Twin sister Sharia B. de Castro, shared her "eggs-citement" for the upcoming camp as well, stating that she believes it is “eggs-actly” what a significant number of students in the territory currently need.

"Reading, Writing and Critical Thinking are three skills which many of our children struggle with in the everyday classroom, hence our Eggs-perts initiative. We believe that by teaching these skills in a fun learning environment, students would be more equipped and better able to function in their holistic day to day classroom experience. Some children just need that little extra push and individual attention and we are ready, willing and qualified to give it."

They said parents have the unique opportunity to allow their children to use these two weeks to their advantage as the programme is set from March 29 to April 8, 2016 and starts from 9:00am until 4:00pm daily. “We will have this eggs-pert eggs-perience at the Write to Read school located on the 3rd floor of the E.A. Creque Building at the intersection of Flemming and Main Street in Road Town,” Ms de Castro noted.

The core areas of the programme are primarily geared at focusing on developing Eggs-pert Readers, Eggs-pert Writers and Eggs-pert Thinkers. Also because it would not be a BREAK without some eggs-tra fun, children will enjoy Science Eggs-periments, Eggs-press Yourself Art and an Eggs-citing Field Trip, they said.

“Parents, give your child a chance to become the Eggs-pert they were created to be. Give them the opportunity to receive a holistic educational eggs-perience that is guaranteed to help hatch the greatness that is within them. It’s time for our children to break out of their shells and achieve their full potential,” said Ms de Castro.

For more information and registration persons can call 441-5592 or 442-7335. “Get crackin'! Spaces are limited!”
