ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - It was a large gathering of young and old residents at the event dubbed 'A Day of Repentance Gathering' on May 20, 2018, at the Queen Elizabeth II Park. The event was spearheaded by Honourable Alvera Maduro-Caines, Sixth District Representative.

There were pastors from most churches including male and female, and some powerful messages. Persons prayed, sang, cried, and raised their hands and voices in praise of God.

Many ills prayed for

The Virgin Islands over the past seven years has been going through trying times including poor governance, lack of financial accountability and mismanagement of funds, natural disasters, broke treasury, victimisations and according to Opposition Leader Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) blatant corruption.

Persons at the Sunday, May 20, 2018 event, prayed that the land will be healed from all those ills and that residents will turn their lives over to Jesus.

It remains unclear if any changes will come about, but there was certainly a show of support for the idea and also the organiser Hon Maduro-Caines.

Truth: we were taught nonsense through religion, even worse we were taught not to question it regardless of how ridiculous and unrealistic. Now the sad truth: to this day so many highly educated and intelligent people are still investing their body, mind & hard earned money into the LIES.& NONSENSE!

We were also taught to check the word of God to ensure that what is said to us is scirptually sound. If you can’t match it back to scripture...what were you told? Knowledge is power....question it....debate it....#areYouForReal

Beware of false prophets. Emotion doesn’t mean repentance. A bigger problem of falsehood ahead.

Half who claim to be devoted Christians are far from God. Matter of fact some of the Churches are far from God. May he have mercy on the BVI this upcoming hurricane season.

This has nothing to do with NDP or VIP or any party. This is strictly the bullying of the UK trying to destroy us. For now, and only for now, all parties must come together to fight the UK and bring justice for us. If we are constantly fighting each other, that weakens us and the UK knows this and are laughing at us. Stop the madness blaming God for everything and get off ours behinds to join as one in unity. Strength is power.
