ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A team of festive spirited employees of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture invoked the spirit of Christmas at a number of businesses in the territory's capital, Road Town, on Friday, November 20, 2020, caroling for patrons and staff.

Their lead locally composed carol, 'How did COVID get here?', has become the new buzz around the businesses they stopped at.

"Wash your hands, wear your mask, stay six feet apart.. oh oh oh, oh oh oh, how did COVID get here," the song encouraged.

It was a grand time at their stop at OneMart Supermarket, where the staff couldn't resist the party moment, taking a break from their work stations to grab a few moments on the floor dancing.

The proprietor of the store and Representative for the Fourth District, Honourable Mark H. Vanterpool, also join the party.

“I was in my office and someone came and told me that there was a party in the store and I had to come down and join. I didn’t expect it but I am excited that you all came, you guys are amazing."

Hon Vanterpool took time out to announce that his year his OneMart will be providing opportunities for many persons to win valuable prizes.

"In the past, we gave away a car and one-off big prizes. This time we want as many persons to win prizes, so from this weekend to Christmas eve night we would have given out prizes totalling $25,000," Hon Vanterpool disclosed.

They do this each year for the last few years now and I am glad they have continued. We need this type of energy back in our Christmas season and in our culture.
