GENE HILL, Tortola, VI - After a contractor reported Friday afternoon June 3, 2016 that he was held at gunpoint near a construction site on Gene Hill by two assailants, Police are encouraging businessmen to use cheques or direct bank deposit to pay workers on work sites.

Head of Territorial Policing St. Clair Amory says the two who approached the businessman on Gene Hill obviously came knowledgeable and prepared.

“The assailants came expecting to take funds from the contractor which he should have had to pay his employees. Fortunately, those funds were not on him,” he said.

One of the offenders is described as about 5’7, slim built, dark in complexion and dressed in dark clothing with a t-shirt over his head. The other was similarly dressed but a little bigger and lighter in complexion.

While a robbery team is now actively working to make a breakthrough in this case and others, Police are asking the public to be vigilant and to report any suspicions, no matter how insignificant, to the Criminal Investigations Department by calling the RVIPF 311 number.

Persons can also call the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or the Miami based Crimestoppers number 800-8477.

Laze behind no good dogs don't want to work for anything but don't mind taking what is not theirs. I am so glad the contractor did not have the money on him and yes they should be paid by checks for now on.
