Cold front expected to increase shower activity across VI
An approaching cold front will bring an increase in cloudiness and shower activity for the local area from late tonight into Tuesday, March 9, 2020, according to the Department of Disaster Management (DDM).
“The approaching cold front and a northerly swell will cause a significant increase in winds and seas starting this evening. Therefore, hazardous marine conditions and dangerous rip currents are expected to prevail through at least Thursday.
"Building seas 7 to 9 feet are expected across the offshore Atlantic waters today,” DDM stated.
