SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI - The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) had reported that they had launched a probe into a missing man from Tortola following an incident around February 14, 2016 where the United States Coast Guard had conducted a major operation against alleged trafficking of illegal immigrants in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) waters.

Our newsroom can now confirm that the missing youth is 24 year old Clyde D. Lloyd Jr aka 'Chancee' of Sea Cows Bay on the main island of Tortola.

It remains unclear if the deceased Lloyd fell off the boat or jumped, during the US Coast Guard Operations in the USVI waters.

Our newsroom's correspondence in St Thomas, USVI had already reported last week that the US Coast Guard Operation had stopped a boat operated by Virgin Islander Ashemba Frett.

Since then Mr Frett 22, was arrested and charged based on allegations that he encouraged and induced aliens to illegally enter the United States Territory of St Thomas.

Nationals of Haiti and the Dominican Republic were aboard the boat, but they did not possess any legal document to enter the USVI, law enforcers told our newsroom.

Under Federal law, if convicted of illegally encouraging and inducing aliens to enter the USVI, Frett faces a maximum of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. In the case of a violation in which the offence was done for the purpose of private financial gain, a convicted person would serve not more than 10 years’ imprisonment.

It is believed that young Lloyd was on the boat but went missing during the operation. The body remains in St Thomas awaiting final tests before it is returned to his family in Sea Cows Bay.

Our newsroom, management and Board of Directors express our condolences to Mr Lloyd’s family.

Why would someone push him over board at that time. Who would have done that? What did they have to gain by such an act? I wonder if he fell over board????????

This is simply sad. He should have stayed on the boat and serve defend himself in a court of law if they had said he did something wrong. I am sure his mother is in pain of loosing her son.

Only if he realized all the U.S. authorities would have done with him, is put him on a boat; and send him back Tortola. Only Frett would have faced charges.

Most of us do have children, but it's people like some of you the bloggers that tolerate the Bull S....t of the kids/young men and give them a pat on the back in acceptance. We need to change the culture and only then they will make attempts to do better.
