Charter yacht with tourists hits reef, no injuries reported

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – According to information reaching this news site, sometime after 5 p.m. this afternoon July 3, 2012, a charter yacht hit a reef and ran aground with six tourists on board, but no one is injured.

Virgin Islands News Online understands that the yacht, which belongs to a local charter company, was apparently making its way to Tortola when it hit the reef located between Buck Island and Tortola.

A salvage crew was summoned to the scene and is currently working to remove the yacht.

Meanwhile, the six tourists were safely removed from the boat.

    I blame the captain. They were being lazy. they were to go aroung buck island n come in from the eastern end of it but no they decide to cut through. I came home n saw it. Not the first n wouldnt b the last

    Credit card captain. Can't read a chart to save his life! Whoever was responsible for vetting this man's boating abilities is to blame for letting him rent the boat.
