ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - CCT today August 14, 2014 announced that it will be performing a prepaid service migration, giving customers access to a new service platform and that this will take place tonight between 11:00 pm and midnight, disrupting service during that time.

According to CCT, once complete prepaid customers will be able to enjoy easier access to everyday mobile communication needs via a USSD menu by simply dialing *611#.

Customers will be to build their own plan with just the amount of Talk, Text, Data ---even Roaming and International Talk minutes that they need.

Speaking to this news site today August 14, 2014, Marketing & Public Relations Manager at CCT Ms Janette N. Brin said, “we are making an upgrade to our prepaid platform which will allow customers to basically manage their own data, their own services.”

She said that the highlight of the upgrade is the Build Your Own Plan’ feature which will allows customers to use the USSD menu to purchase how many local minutes or international or roaming minutes or data plans, to allow persons to use Whatsapp and other social media.

“A couple months ago we launched our new 4G network so these are continued improvement we are making to allow our services to be competitive and more convenient,” she said.

According to Ms Brin, prepaid customers will lose service on their devices temporarily and will need to perform a full power cycle. “Simply switch off and restart your device to allow it to reconnect to the network,” said Brin.

She said that prepaid customers will be unable to retrieve previously saved voicemail and are advised to check old messages before the migration takes place.

A release from CCT said the migration will provide access to attractively priced data bundles via a USSD menu.

“With data bundles starting from as low as $1 per day customers can purchase data based on their required usage and budget. Customers should be aware that once the capacity (volume) of the bundle is depleted a rate of 15 cents per megabyte shall apply,” said the release.

It noted that following the service migration should customers require assistance they are asked to please contact a customer service representative at 444-4444. “Customers can also visit the CCT Road Town or Virgin Gorda store for a demonstration on how to use USSD.”

Oh the small minded -- she is simply doing her job! Like it or not its her job! The services spoke of in the article don't belong to no one carrier or her. CCT is now up with the times -- with the likes of AT&T, T-mobile - and yes LIME and companies around the world that have 4G Networks and use several 3rd party vendors to make the service more accessible to the consumer. In this case they are talking about a USSD menu so customers don't always have to go to the store to top up. If you don't have nothing to say just keep it moving. --- Good for CCT we know they struggling as the small company with a BIG job but they moving in the right direction.
