CCT distances itself from viral ‘Hitler’ video
The almost four minute video which has been making the rounds on social media is actually based on a clip of the 2004 World War II movie ‘Downfall’ during which ‘Adolph Hitler’ is in a heated exchange with his top military strategists in which would have been the final days of the war leading up to his demise and the fall of the Third Reich.
However, while the actual video from the movie is shown, the subtitles have been changed to depict an engagement between ‘Hitler’ and his men regarding poor data service from a particular communications provider in the VI and the option of a better service from a competitor.
Brin was clear that CCT had nothing to do with the video. She also confirmed that she has seen it.
“Please note that we have seen the video. Please further note that it is not a CCT video and as a result we have no comment on its contents,” said Brin to our newsroom today August 26, 2015.
“When we saw it, it was a concern that people might assume that we did it. So we want to maintain the truth in that it is not a CCT video. We had nothing to do with it. We didn’t create it. We didn’t do anything. We found out like everybody else,” she said.
The clip in question seems to be a popular platform for making political statements as it had been used in another setting recently with the words changed up to reflect another real life situation.

Yea, sure, right! Let's forget that C&W had the real monopoly but those are rich white European interests so we shudder at the thought of calling them out. Instead let's pounce on our own people who built their product from scratch. I'm no CCT fan or Investment Club fan but it sickens me to hear this monopoly nonsense while conveniently excluding the role C&W played in the entire thing and up until now still offering half-@$$ed services to us for top dollar. WE should be ashamed of ourselves picking on our own every minute while others get away with rape and murder. No different to Festival where we shout down our local artists while overseas people come here, shout a bit, take off their pants, grind up on the audience and leave with $20K in cash while our people wait months and years for theirs. Keep it up, Willy Lynch is proud!
Brilliant marketing strategy though CCT even though you won't own up to it!
I have to wonder if someone took that famous clip from the movie "Roots", where Kunt Kinte (with metal shackles around his neck, wrists and feet) is being whipped by his "owner" insisting that he accept his new slave name,"Toby", and they turned it into a joke about some BVI company insisting that employees wear button down shirts instead of t-shirts; would we still be quite as amused?
As members of the global community, this kind of insensitive tastelessness is not only deplorable, it is a very disturbing indicator of how far we have allowed ourselves to sink as a people. Pure ignorance!
Its a video poking fun at real issues in the BVI. If you watched it and got the gist of the video u wouldn't be such a jack@$$ about it. The multi national companies getting away with raping the pockets of our people and the TRC stifling the growth of the home grown company who is capable of doing the job right now and u worried about the characters in the video. Its a scene from a hollywood movie get over it
This holocaust you are referring to, even if it was proven to be true, can in no way approach the level of evil represented by African slavery. African slavery was in a whole class of evil by itself. Tens of millions of defenseless people killed or treated as disposable property.
I fear the earth will cease to exist before African slavery and its legacy of racism are forgiven. Many, many people of both races will continue to die because of this. So please - refrain from using this holocaust and African slavery in the same comment.
By the way, the video was brilliant marketing. Even so, I don't think CCT was dumb enough to do this.
@Scary Mary, you are wrong in your comparison - I am against killing jews, homosexuals, gipsys and others as much as anyone, but this clip is not the same as taking the clip of Kunte Kinte as you suggest. The equivalent of what you suggest would be to take a scene of innocents from the gas chamber and dub the speech of the guards sending them to their death for not choosing the bigger better network (or whatever). The equivalent of this clip is of using a portrayal of a plantation owner, and not (especially) featuring the slaves (although they might have a peripheral role).

Hitler is evil but we hail the Queen. It's amazing how people try to sound so intelligent but come off as totally brainless and dumb. The media has done a heck of a job f@#$%^g with our minds! Wow!
Whoever dubbed this video clip is a genius. I watched it several times and since I am a little slow in reading I decided to write out the script. Here it is for those who want to follow the script.
