GREENLAND, Tortola, VI – A blazing century delivered by Cavaliers’ number three batsman, Kwesi Sinclair, ensured victory over team Jamaica in the latest round of the Digicel T20 Cricket tournament at the Greenland recreation ground yesterday, April 20, 2014.

The Jamaicans won the toss and inserted the Cavaliers Cricket team to bat first but perhaps did not bargain for the pocket rocket that was to come at the fall of the first wicket.

The Cavaliers posted a total of 271 runs all out on the board but a steady flow of wickets meant the Jamaicans could only muster a paltry reply of 107 runs after 16 overs with all of their batsmen back in the hut.

Sinclair stroked a whirlwind fourteen sixes and six fours in his innings of 116 that helped the Cavaliers prevail over their Jamaican counterparts and he received good support from Captain Jagnarine Persaud with 33 and Vishal Barakat who scored 28 runs.

After the game, the star batsman said he was happy about his first century in the T20 format, especially after scoring back to back ducks in the first two games. Sinclair commented that support from his teammates was crucial in shaping his innings and dedicated the century to his son Tyler.

Roshan Hushman and Julian St Clair combined to take two wickets each for the Cavaliers and limit the scoring of the Jamaicans while four other bowlers snared one wicket each.

Tim Samuel with 34 and Rudolph Davis who struck 29 runs, led the scoring for the Jamaicans in the match.

The Cavaliers will come up against the Vikings team next week at the same venue in what many expect will be a highly charged matchup.
