SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Yet another motor vehicle was destroyed by fire in the Virgin Islands (UK).

It was yesterday, June 5, 2017 that an SUV burst into flames while ascending Bound Tree Road on Tortola.

No one was injured but the vehicle was burnt to a shell.

Frequency of vehicle fires

It was on April 29, 2017 that a car caught fire in East End. The vehicle was saved from being completely destroyed thanks to public spirited persons and later the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue.

On April 18, 2017 at separate locations on the main island of Tortola, two vehicles caught on fire.

The first vehicle fire occurred in Belmont Estate, while the second incident occurred at Long Trench.

On Saturday February 25, 2017, an SUV was destroyed by fire on Great Mountain, on the main island of Tortola

On Sunday February 19, 2017 a car was damaged by fire also in Great Mountain, while on February 12, 2017 a vehicle was destroyed after it caught fire in the Pockwood Pond area.

    Guys, it's like when the Government gets corners these fires of vehicles pops up like ad crazy.. Hey, we gots to pray the people out of office..

    So with these frequent occurrences, why these situations not being investigated to find out the cause of the fires or even see if there is a common denominator among them. Maybe like incorrectly installed sound system or all of them have a mechanic in common or even purchased parts from the same location. Our detective force sucks!!!

    Fancy expensive rims on the latest one. I put it to you that there was a poorly wired sound system that shorted or this is yet another victim of "bush mechanics"

    It's not car insurance alone. The Karabs started it when they burnt down their store for money too. They are the rinkleaders of these things. Don't learn from them.

      I would start there " fuel" ....which gas station and type of gas, make and year of vehicle, mechanics, location of the place where the fire started on the vehicle. Insurance company etc
