ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Going around the world physically and via other means is the message that the Virgin Islands popularly called ‘BVI’ is one of the number one tourist destinations in the world with a true Caribbean flavour.

While there are quite a number of features in the VI that are common with other Caribbean countries, there are certain ones that are unique that spark the interest of tourists, some of which are the music, food, the geographic and scenic resorts and the collection of some 60 islands that make up the Territory.

This morning May 28, 2014 Director of the BVI Tourist Board Ms Sharon Flax-Mars appeared on the popular international television channel 16 ‘Lifetime’ on the morning show “Balancing Act”.

As this news site understands it the show is geared to the upward mobility of women especially those who are mothers. Ms Flax-Mars fits the profile and was afforded to opportunity to appear on the show to promote the Virgin Island as the Director.

There was no doubt that the host of the show was very impressed of the description of ‘Nature’s Little Secrets” and but the end of the interview she was serious about packing her bag, that of her daughter and husband to spend their next vacation in the Virgin Islands.

Today Ms Flax-Mars continues her mission in New York to host a reception with some of the leading media operatives in the USA as well as leading travel agents. Then her next beat would be Caribbean Week with CTO.

I agree it is a destination of a lifetime, but we have to do the little things to beautify and take care of the country. Think Virgin Islands think pretty....planting pretty flowers and maintaining them on the highway is a good start, reflectors in speed bumbs is another, start fixing the roads Properly...little stuff that are not big bit fixes other than the roads

and if they want a family-friendly natural beach, leave smugglers and Long Bay BI alone so they can experience true nature, not a shopping mall with 9 vendor kiosks. who wants to shop at the beach?

Good stuff! We just need to show that we are serious about tackling crime. Makes no sense globe trotting while we rot at home!

Finally doing what they should be doing promoting the BVI and getting the message out about why we might be more expensive and harder to get to but why we are special and worth the trip. Now focus on this RISING CRIME PROBLEM put some pressure on to get it fixed. Labour and Immigration needs to be vigilant about people who are here and not working or not working enough to sustain living here. We who are from here can barley afford to live here much less.

Good job Mrs. Flax-Mars. The director should always be the one promoting when it comes to events like this.

I think the goal of the BVI should be focused on becoming less dependent on tourism and more focused on production of what we have naturally. We have lost much of our culture and history for the satisfaction of the tourist perspective.
