BVIBF Summer League tips off June 10, 2017

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The BVI Basketball Federation (BVIBF) has finally confirmed Saturday June 10, 2017, as the start date for the much awaited Summer League, to be played in the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Road Town.

Described as another “Short and Sweet” version, action will get underway with Junior Mystics facing Junior And One.

The Opening Ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM.

The second game of the evening will see the Mystics take on the Latinos.

Meanwhile, the Federation has also announced that the U16 Girls National Team will be competing at the U17 Centro Basket Tournament in August, being hosted by Puerto Rico.

The Girls, who claimed a bronze medal at the CBC Games in 2016, are in a group that includes El Salvador, Guatemala and Mexico, whilst the other Group contains the Bahamas, Suriname, Puerto Rico and Costa Rica.

The Tournament is scheduled for August 15 – 19, 2017.

Following the BVIBF Summer League, the next basketball series to commence will be the Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed League, which tips off on Saturday August 19, 2017.
