BVI Tigers hope to roar at USVI’s BCB Tournament!

The BVI Tigers will be heading off to the third annual BCB Junior Varsity Basketball Tournament at the end of March.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – A select group of Under 15 Basketballers are heading off to St Thomas, in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), on March 29, 2012, to take part in the third annual Junior Varsity Basketball Tournament hosted by Bertha C. Boschulte (BCB) Middle School.

The team which has been selected through the various BD Basketball and Village Basketball Tournaments has undergone rigorous training each week and according to Coach Maurice Wattley it is more than ready to showcase its talent and come home victorious.

The team comprises, Orlando Rogers, Terrique Wattley, Tahj Malone, J’Quan Pickering, J’moi Liburd, Jomari Dagou, D’moi Hodge, D’angelo Sampson, Vincent wattle Junior, Jasin Rymer Junior, Romain Minott, Kimron Telemaque, Assani, Jaquani Pickering and Jacoy Walwyn

Assist ant Coach is Ronald Simmons and Asst. Manager/Chaperone is Sharlene Hill.

“The team has been practicing mainly at the Belle Vue Gym on Sundays as well as other sessions around the territory and despite the problems with getting everybody together the team has gelled well,” according to Wattley.

It is a boys and girls tournament and Wattley hopes that by next year a girls’ team from the Territory will be participating too.

Other schools competing are the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School (Stt), Cancryn High School (Stt), CBC, Charlotte Amalie High School (Stt), Complex High (Stx), Central High (Stx), John Haynesworth (Stt) and the Boyd School (Stt).
