CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI - 'The International Fete' set for tonight, Saturday, February 29, 2020, as part of the BVI Spring Festival calendar of events could result in the closure of an access road leading to the Cane Garden Bay (CGB) Community.

As such, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) through a press release this afternoon is advising the public to take an alternate route if accessing GCB through the Stoutt’s Lookout junction later this evening.

According to the Police, "there is a possibility that the road will be blocked off at 8:30 pm at Stoutt’s Lookout due to the event scheduled at The Wedding in Cane Garden Bay."

Or you can walk about 50:yards down the beach sit in a nice comfy chair that is already out for tomorrow’s cruise ship lambs buy a normal, price drink or support one of the local beach bars or Bring your own. Trust me you will hear it as well as if you were in the $50/$30 event So much for noise ordinance laws. Never heard of any of these people now if it were The Rolling Stones I would be there

Too much noise. Persons need to hold their functions in an enclosed sound-proofed building. Additionally, no one should be denied the right to pass (to get to their home) on a public road because of a private function.
Residents are inconvenienced and - to add insult to injury - have to endure the intrusion of offensive music.
And please don't say they have permission! Permission is granted to hold the function, not to play loud music. (As for time, the Commissioner should know better. In the UK pubs are enclosed and are closed at what time - 11:00 p.m or 12 midnight? And if they are not, who closes them down?)

Lawmakers need to take seriously and understand the impact loud music/noise as well as sleep deprivation have on its most valuable resource - humans! Then and only then persons will understand why many workers are not as productive as they should be.
