ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The British Virgin Islands (BVI) Services is the recipient of a new bus to transport clients with special needs.

The bus was donated by a group of donors including professional service firm KPMG, International Motors, VI Motors, Caribbean Insurers, and Jahphix.

This according to a press release, dated November 13, 2018, by the Government Information Services (GIS) which notes that Head of Disabilities at the Social Development Department, Ms Lorna Dawson expressed gratitude to the donors for providing the much needed transport.

She said VI Motors will ensure its upkeep by providing regular maintenance, insurance coverage will be provided by Caribbean Insurers, while Mr Kelvin Titley of Jahphix has outfitted the vehicle.

KPMG’s representative, Ms Kerry Grant said the BVI Services has had their fair share of difficulties over the years, but after hurricane Irma those difficulties were magnified.

Ms Grant said this led to the donors’ assistance with the donation of the bus.

She also commended the staff for their hard work and dedication as they care for their clients.

The vehicle was blessed by Dr Wayne Hoyte and has been used by the staff to attend a Culture Week event in Fahie Hill.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development aspires to provide a caring and integrated system of health and social services that facilitates human development and quality of life in the Virgin Islands.
