‎PURCELL ESTATE‎, Tortola, VI - BVI Communication, a business at Purcell that deals with the repair and sale of electronic devices, was broken into and items stolen sometime late Sunday night, September 18, 2016.

According to reports, the burglar/s gained entry to the business place by smashing the glass of the front door.

This news site’s reporter observed the shattered glass front door of the business place yesterday morning, Monday September 19, 2016. The debris was swept up at the frontage of the store. Only one side of the double pulled door appeared to have been damaged as the glass for the other half was still intact.

Several persons were on the inside appearing to do an inventory. As the reporter attempted to enter ‎to conduct her business she was told the store was closed. When asked why, staff declined to respond.

This news site, however, was informed that a number of cell phones and other electronic devices on sale were taken.

"How they pulled that off is very amazing. It tells that they must have planned that action carefully," said a source close to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

‎The estimated loss is not known at this time and the source was not at liberty to say if security cameras in the area had captured the daring criminal act.

The source, however, cautioned, "What persons need to know is that they should not be buying any phones on the black market or in other words from any individual who does not possess a ‎license to be selling phones. If you are caught with any of those phones you will be prosecuted. Whether you know or don't know that it's stolen goods you will be prosecuted," the source warned.

Meanwhile, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton did not respond to our inquiries on the burglary.

@zzzzzzz, cut the bullcrap out already. Come on now man, did the NDP tell the little bottom feeders theifs to go rob the place? More than likely, the theifs were customers or pretend customers caseing the store. They stole the phones to sell them on the street. If someone approach me on the street about buying phones or I know of anyone buying stolen phones, I am going to the police. Enough is enough. Go catch fish or go pick whelks to sell if you need money.
You little petty over the counter theifs.

Wow that's strange doesn’t the owner of BVI Communications have top of the line cameras installed in his store. These people need their cut ass with a tamarind wipe or electrical wire. My parents especially our mother cut our behind with them and today we are grown men and women and we not die from the cut ass, we understood what our parents told us and respected their house rules, and also not to touch and bring home people things as much as a simple pencil that our parents didn’t give or bought us.

To the owner, it might cost you extra but, up your security. If you have to get the sliding gates to protect the front doors and windows do so.
