NASSAU, The Bahamas- Bronze medalist in the 100m Boys Under 20 event Rikkoi A.R. Brathwaite will be eyeing another podium finish on the closing day of the 47th Flow Carifta Games in Nassau, The Bahamas later today, April 2, 2018.

Virgin Islands’ Brathwaite booked his place in the 200m Boys Under 20 final with a time of 21:40 seconds in the heats on Sunday, April 1, 2018, qualifying as one of the fastest outside of the automatic qualifying places.

Compatriot Joshua Hill also featured in the 200m heats for Under 20 Boys, finishing fourth in a non-advancing time of 21.85.

Meanwhile, sprinter Beyonce A. DeFreitas, who was expected to make the finals of the Girls 200 Under 20 event, did not take to the start line of the heats.

Reports reaching our newsroom indicate she is struggling with an injury.

DeFreitas on February 24, 2018 blazed to a 24.07 time in the 200m to qualify for the IAAF World Jr Championships scheduled for Tampere, Finland from July 10 – 15, 2018.
