WEST END, Tortola, VI - It promises to be a day of thrills and excitement today Sunday, August 5, 2018, when the Virgin Islands (VI) Boat Drama Club presents, ‘Boat Racing at its Best.’

All engines will begin 'revving'  just after noon at Romney Park, West End, Tortola, where there will be seven featured races, with cash prizes up for grabs.

The family-oriented event promises to be a thriller, with food and drinks on sale to accompany what promises to be an exhilarating chain of races.

Featured Races

Clashing for a $650 prize, the first race will see the boats, ‘Heart at Risk’, ‘The Game’, ‘The Cutlass’, ‘Red Blood’ and ‘Get Lucky’ speeding towards the finish line.

‘Pound for Pound’ and ‘Fly By’ will also be jetting through the waves, as they go ‘hull-to-hull’ in the 26 feet category.

The final race will see ‘Star Cat’, ‘Rain Stopper’ and ‘John Wick’ vying for bragging rights and the $1,750 top prize.

The event has been made possible through the sponsorship of Opposition Leader the Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) and the Virgin Islands (VI) Festival and Fairs Committee, among others.
