Big guns clash in Dive BVI 10K on VG

- Stoby & Oniasih emerge victorious

VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- It was a battle of the titans when the Dive BVI Virgin Gorda 10K Series, ran over the first half of the Virgin Gorda Half Marathon course, was held today, April 11, 2015.

Top distance runners Reuben J. A. Stoby, Guy Williamson, Julius Farley, Curwin Andrews and Ravi Sukhu were all there; however, it was Stoby who emerged the winner after pulling away from Williamson and Farley with about 2000 metres to the finish.

The trio of Stoby, Williamson and Farley ran together for most of the race with no one really looking to push the pace until late when Stoby made his move to win in 40:16.

Williamson finished in 40:59 while Farley clocked 41:17.

On the distaff side, Ni Made Onaisih won comfortably in 51:40 with Kay Reddy second in 54:46 and Casey McNutt third in 56:32.

The second leg of the Dive BVI 10K, which will take the route of the other half of the Virgin Gorda Half Marathon course, is on April 25, 2015.

The Virgin Gorda Half Marathon runs off on May 9.
