DUFF’S BOTTON, Tortola, VI- Defending champions Bayside Blazers remained unbeaten without having to break a sweat this weekend as Avengers were a no show while West Gunners thrashed Run it Red in their encounter in the Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed Basketball League at the Save the Seed Energy Centre basketball court in Duff’s Bottom on Saturday September 19, 2015.

West Gunners were ruthless against Run it Red, winning 123-63, with Rowan Victor top scoring with 28 points.

Ray D. Victor had a complete performance, netting 27 points, pulling 12 rebounds, 3 blocks and 4 steals while Jamari James chipped in with 14 and D’Moi Hodge 13.

Run it Red‘s top scorer was Tavon Phillip with 29 points and 10 rebounds.

Knights’ new coach debuts with a win

Finalists in the 2014 edition of the Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed League Knights gave their new coach Mr Nicolas C. Laurac a winning debut although they were made to dig deep for it by Talk Done.

Eventually, the Knights won 77-71, with Jevon K. Serrant scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds; Nicols C. Charles added 16 points, whilst both Vaughn Bassue and Reg Penn finished with 13.

Talk Done were led by Jovaughn Cameron’s 20 points and got double digit returns from Enrico Harrigan, 14, and Clint Weston 13.

Meanwhile, the scheduled Junior Division game between Elite Ballerz and Jr Avengers was forfeited in favour of Jr Avengers.

Swaggas down Young Starz in Junior Division

In Junior Division play on Sunday September 20, 2015, Swaggas pulled off a 36-32 win over the Junior Young Starz.

It was nearly a one-man show as K’Tenay Maduro basketed 22 points, pulled 16 rebounds and made 8 blocks for Swaggas.

Having been down by as many as 8 points, Swaggas just kept coming at the Young Starz, rattling them and clawing their way, first back level and then ahead in the closing stages to win.

Isaiah Thomas scored 14 for the Young Starz and Elroy Bollers grabbed 8 rebounds.

Warrias edge Z6ne 6 Ballers

On Friday, the Warrias beat the Zone 6 Ballers 75-73. Juan 'Wangie' Hatchett scored 23 points with 17 rebounds, Albert Hatchet 14 with 8 rebounds and Nigel Todman 12 with 7 rebounds.

The Ballers were led by 21 points and 10 rebounds from Nathaniel Malone, 15 points, 11 rebounds from Deshawn Douglas, 11 points from Jose Htachett and 10 from Kevis Phillip.

Esplash Brothers beat New Heights

ESplash Brothers then beat New Heights 72-63, with Ashfield Frett scored 17 points and 16 rebounds. Travis Isaac added 16 points with 12 rebounds and Shamoii Dagou 16 points.

For the Heights, Khadin Fahie notched 21 points and 7 rebounds, Kevin Isaac 9 with 11 rebounds and Kameron Young finished with 11 rebounds.
