DUFF’S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI – Week 2 of the Hon Julian Fraser/Save the Seed Basketball League saw the Number One Draft pick, Eustace “Boss” Freeman, justify his selection as he powered the Pilipinos to their first victory of the Tournament on Friday August 22, 2014.

Playing against Real Tool, who have yet to unleash their “Elite” Player, Cedric King, Freeman dominated at both ends of the court with a 24 point and 20 Rebound performance that saw the Pilipinos a 75-62 victory.

Freeman added 6 Assists, 2 Steals and 2 Blocks to his nights work and got good support from Akeibo Fahie, who scored 14 Points, 4 Rebounds, 5 Assists and 5 Steals and Juanita Diaz, who finished with 8 Points, 7 Rebounds.

For Real Tool, Dillon Etienne notched 16 points, Ahdan Douward 12 Points with 15 Rebounds and Dekembe Parsons 10Points.

Phillip Glasgow had less success for Top Shottaz, as his team was defeated, 92-77, by Game Boyz, who were driven to victory by Kevin Bodkin’s 18 Point performance.

He added 5 Rebounds and 4 assists and other scorers of note were Angel Brown, who finished with 14 Points, 9 Rebounds and 4 Steals, Michael Benjamin who scored 14 Points, 6 Rebounds and 7 Steals and Mackenzie Baltimore who garnered 14 Points, 5 Rebounds and 4 Steals.

For the Shottas, Vaughn Bassue hit 24 Points, Eric Cameron 15 and Darryl Alexander 13.

The last game on Friday saw the Bayside Blazers gain their second straight win, 90-74, over Dessert Storm, blowing open an evenly matched first half in the third quarter to romp to a comfortable victory.

Sandy E. Nadal top scored with 23 Points, 7 Rebounds and 5 Steals, whilst Jubal K. Jones added 16 Points, 7 Rebounds, Asim Z. C. Beazer 10 Points, 6 Rebounds, 8 Assists and Louie A. Poblete 10 Points, 5 Rebounds.

Desert Storm’s Jevone Demming was their main contributor with 19 Points, whilst J’Kwon Frett scored 16 and Tyron Tyson finished with 11 Points and 10 Rebounds.
