Basketball Elite Summer League action sizzles over the weekend
Coming up against the ‘Disciples’ on Saturday night, June 2, 2018, ‘Jam Session’ was lead by Dwayne M. Stout, who scored 17 points while Devante A. Brewley netted 11 points for the team. The ‘Disciples’ scorecard was led by Ashield Frett who chalked up 19 points with teammate Mari Benjamin also chipping in a notable 7 points.
The ‘Hurricanes’ also went on to defeat ‘Right Mix’ 49-46. Leading the board, Douran Phillips netted 22 points while teammate, Tavon J. Phillips also scored an impressive 18 points.
‘Right Mix’ was led in its bid by Damian Hooper who netted 16 points while Romain D. Minott Neufville Jr added 7 points to the score board. Action the following night, Sunday June 3rd, 2018 saw ‘Rebels’ defeating Guns 79-58.
‘Rebels’ top scorer Dione M. Blyden, netted 22 points for the team while Shakeem Blackmore added 18 points. Bodean J. Samuel also chalked up double figures, placing 14 points on the scoreboard for his team.
The ‘Guns’ were led by Jolyon J. D. Wilson, with 17pts, Bjorn J. Caleb with 14points and Tiquan Stout 10 points.
Rockers, meanwhile defeated ‘Right Mix’ 53-52, led by Travis A. Issac scoring 21pts and Mikey S. Joseph with 14 points.
Topping the ‘Right Mix’ scorecard was Neufville Jr with 14 points and Shaquille T. Fonseca 12pts. Tournament organiser, Mr Steve E. Parrilon, in an invited comment thanked all of the players for their participation and encouraged, “everyone to come out and to support the league in the upcoming games.”
