Bar patrons robbed at gunpoint in Sea Cows Bay

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Police are investigating a reported robbery last night, May 21, 2012 around 11:40 p.m. at a Sea Cows Bay bar.

The three victims reported that while they were playing pool at the bar, two men dressed in dark clothing with masks covering their faces entered the bar with what appeared to a semi-automatic rifle and a handgun, took a wallet, cash, and cellular phones from them and fled the scene. No injuries were sustained.

Police are asking anyone who may have information that could lead to the identity of the perpetrators in this robbery to contact any officer within the Criminal Investigation Department through the Police non-emergency access number 311.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is encouraging members of the public to do their part in reducing the number of guns in the Territory.

Persons who know of individuals in possession of guns can report this information confidentially to the Intelligence Unit at 468-9339. This information will greatly assist the officers now dedicated to the task of removing these weapons from the streets of the Territory.

Persons are also encouraged to use the untraceable, anonymous Crimestoppers Miami hotline number 800-(TIPS) or 800-8477. No names or numbers are requested and only the information provided is passed on to local police detectives.
