NORTH SOUND, Virgin Gorda, VI- Information just reaching Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) is that there has reportedly been an attempted abduction and robbery on Virgin Gorda.

According to reports, the incident allegedly took place in broad daylight today, September 18, 2020.

Our newsroom was told by sources close to the situation that three masked men, armed with guns and cutlasses, entered the home of three females, tied them up and threatened to kill them if they refused to give details of a male.

The masked men also allegedly demanded monies.

According to reports, an eyewitness summoned police; however, the men fled before the lawmen arrived on the scene.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) confirmed the incident via press release minutes ago.

"It is confirmed that on Friday, September 18, 2020, during afternoon hours, the men entered the home of an employee of EMC Construction armed with a firearm and straps and tied up his family, demanding his whereabouts and money. The masked men later fled the scene before the arrival of the officers, leaving the family unharmed.

"Persons with information that can lead to the identification of the suspects involved can contact the emergency number 911 or RVIPF’s non-emergency line 311. All information will be treated with discretion and confidentiality will be assured," the RVIPF press release stated.

More details to follow.

Community activists and host of C** D**P will never used her platform to seriously address issues within the BVI. She’s an activist but fighting against the wrongs thing’s.

To afraid to use her platform to say certain things.A REAL AND TRUE COMMUNITY ACTIVIST WILL STAND IN FRONT OF THE FIRING SQUAD IF SHE HAS TO. Some things she will jump on and somethings she would go silent on.

The show needs revamping. Much of what is said on the show could be said in Facebook blog or news site. It's just talking read from a screen.

I don’t see the purpose of the show, very boring, revamp the show or cancel. There is nothing about the show that draws the audience in. Talk show hosts need to know how to mesh with audience.

This isn't expats dividing the BVI, it is your own people.

@ vg boy.. just for the record, VG people have NEVER been “very” prejudice against Tola people for “we are one BVI people”..so stop Blogging your nonsense o try to start some xenophobic war.. so any Tolian reading this stupid comment please ignore it..No one will entertain nonsense being spoken about them.. so you just stick a pin in whatever you’re trying to start..

I am not surprised at your comment. In your mind people from Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke are not locals. Only persons born on Tortola with certain family names are considered as such. No wonder you mentioned "Island people" Virgin Gorda is an Island and your hatred for Island people is obvious.
    • @ Agree (19/09/2020, 07:03) Like (9) Dislike (0) Reply
Do you realize if you were to remove people from the ISLAND of VG who were born elsewhere you would be left with about 10% of the ISLANDERS living on VG who were born in the BVI?
      • @@Agree (19/09/2020, 14:29) Like (1) Dislike (0) Reply
And do you realize that those 10% would be family and without those people who were born elsewhere living in Virgin Gorda what would have happened? Think inbreeding.

The employee in question had his house invaded by robbers looking to rob. Nothing more.
This report alludes to the employee being implicated into something more.
    This is not the case.
    Get your facts right.

People are going mad. This lock down, Curfew and border closure , the hard times are driving people mad. As hard as it is in Tortola, its twice as hard in VG where 80% of employment on the Island is in the tourism industry that is none existance rite now,,,,, The only thing I can say, I woule like these people in Govt that happy shutting the place down, let them all go with out salary just for one month, then they will see how difficult it is for those people who haven't collected a check in 5 months... These men committed a bad act but u can see that they are not hardened criminals, they didn't hurt anyone, , they were in desperate need for money....

What luck it is for the ministers of government that the people don't fight against basic human rights. This curfew makes no sense and will cause alot of crimes, but alot of sheep's are in support because they are public servants.

It is no wonder that we have all these distorted facts of the issue. It is not the first time that intruders came after the male individual. The employee from EMC is the wife of the individual that the men came after. Unfortunately, the wife was not at home. There are more in the mortar than the pestle. People of Virgin Gorda needs to be more vigilant and try to observe strangers in their midst.
