Archie Christian: I will be your eyes and ears!

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Although he is only a Territorial At Large representative and not awarded a Ministry, Hon. Archibald Christian urged his supporters not to feel slighted by any means, because he feels he is in the best position to give representation to everyone.

“I can certainly keep an eye on the other Ministers and ensure that they do justice for you the people of the Virgin Islands. I will be your eyes and ears. I will be on the ground, I will be inside the meetings and will be reporting back to you as how we progress as a nation going forward,” Hon. Christian pledged to residents at a meeting held last evening, November 30, 2011 at the Sir. Rupert Briecliffe Hall.

At the November 7 polls, the At Large representative secured 4,205 votes and thanked the residents for their faith and confidence in electing him.

He noted that he has been around with Government Ministers to look at major projects so as to have first-hand knowledge of what is going on.

Furthermore, Hon. Christian disclosed that he has received a number of requests from residents, ranging from people seeking assistance to pay their medical bills to paying electricity bills.

Unfortunately, he said he cannot assist as yet because he has no access to funds until he and other district representatives are sworn in as elected officials. This will occur on December 8, 2011 at the opening of the second House of Assembly.

Archie, be careful and not promise what you cant fulfil. Right now I need a couple of bills paid; however, we the people should understand that the government can only do so much, even when you do have access to the money. Some of them will say they voted for you and now you dodging them and don't want to help them so they will take that and vote you out in 2015. PEOPLE I NEED ASSISTANCE FROM THIS GOVERNMENT (I MAY LOSE MY HOME) BUT PLEASE, GIVE THE GOVERNMENT A CHANCE. EVERYONE IS SUFFERING AND AS MUCH AS THEY WOULD LIKE TO HELP, THEY CANT HELP US ALL. PLEASE BE PATIENT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW HOW IF FEELS TO BE DESPERATE

Harass Alvin, the one who said, his hands are tied. Alvin, resumed his position, riding up and down the place. I ain too like him, but Claude woulda done had the ball rolling for ayo. When NDP get in again, I want to see if ayo still gonna vote in that lame duck, Alvin. All he good for is giving away people land and building space for the same government to rent. Conflict of interest

One thing we want now is the electric rates to go down as you all promised in your campaign promises. The 75 to 100% fuel consumption charges to be remove from the bill. Things are hard and so there can be an increase but not this high percentage. Please help us and not to kill us. God Bless the Government abd the Virgin Islands

Archie, if you can get the VI Government to assume the responsibility of paying every individual Household Fuel Surcharge on their electricity bill.... "only for Individuals, no businesses nor Hotels nor Resturants can benefit from this"... just Individuals only. Because all the Hotel, Businesses, Resturant get some form of relief already from Government through the tariff so make this a relief for individuals only. That my friend will be a plus for the NDP. Cause that Fuel Surcahrge on the Electricity bill is killing us all. Thank...Thank you.
