Antigua, St Lucia & St Vincent coming for Regional Police Pageant

- Pageant in observance of the RVIPF’s 50th year as an independent constabulary will be held on April 1, 2017

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Queen, Constable Joeverne S. Webb will come up against contestants from Antigua, St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines when the Regional Police Pageant is held here in the Virgin Islands on April 1, 2017.

The Regional Police Pageant is one of the many events being held in observance of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force’s 50th anniversary as an independent constabulary.

Constable Webb had earned the right to represent the territory after winning the RVIPF’s pageant at the Road Town Police Station compound on October 29, 2016, sweeping awards for Best Introduction, Miss Congeniality, Miss Poise, Best Interview, Best Drill, Best Evening Wear, and Miss Intellect.

According to Sergeant Jacqueline V. Tom, the pageant is a great way for female officers to interact with other female officers from across the region. She further stated that the pageant is also an opportunity show the public that they are not just police officers but they possess other skills and talents.

Ticket prices are as follows: VIP $30, regular $20, at the door $25 and children under 15, $10.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force commenced its 50th anniversary celebration at the New Testament Church of God Worship Centre in Baughers Bay on February 26, 2017. Remarks were made by Commissioner of Police Michael Matthews and other special guests. This event was followed by the unveiling of the 50th commemorative plaque and luncheon for retired police officers.

The slogan for this year is “Community service for all; 50 years on call”.

The 50th anniversary celebration will culminate with the popular International Food and Drink night and Bingo night. In addition, there will be a Caribbean night, a gala dinner and a dance to be announced at a later date.

    Wow.. Im not surprised that they chose April 1st to have this pageant. Its all an april's fool prank..... A joke... I wont take this pageant seriously lol.. whoever wins, good luck lol... "Miss April's fool".. ....ok ppl im just kidding, Issa joke. All the best to the ladies who will contest!

    I am not convinced in any way that a local man could not have deal with the crime situation in the BVI .
