Amsterdam & Brownsdon claim Dive BVI 5K honours

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – As the Virgin Gorda based running event, Dive BVI 5K Series, concluded on Saturday March 16, 2013 with 61 entrants, the award winners in each category where presented with their prizes.

The last race saw Steve Asson re-assert himself at the top of the running tree, but it wasn’t enough for him to grab any of the Series awards as they went to Emrol Amsterdam and Ravi Sukhu.

Asson won the race in a time of 19. 48, with Sukhu 2nd in 19.57, McLean 3rd in 20.10, and Amsterdam 4th in 20.16.

In the Women’s division, Kathleen Brownsdon ran an impressive 21.02 to secure victory and also top placing as Women’s Champion ahead of NiMade Oniash, who finished 4th in a time of 23.21 to claim the overall 2nd place. Laura Bowles took 2nd spot on the day in a time of 21.47 with Ehrin Irvin 3rd and Philomena Robertson 4th.

Other Awards presented at the brief ceremony were to the age group category winners with a special mention to young Will Sneddon who won the U-10 category.
