COOPER ISLAND, VI - It was reported yesterday, Sunday, December 30, 2018, to our newsroom that a Caucasian female of American nationality drowned off Cooper Island in Virgin Islands (VI) waters.

Police confirmed that just after 1:00 PM yesterday, Peebles Hospital reported of an incident where a body was brought to the hospital and drowning was suspected.

Police investigations are ongoing according to a senior officer.

Cardiologist died days before

This comes days after the high profile drowning of another American Caucasian man. On December 20, 2018, a Broward County, Florida, USA Cardiologist died after he fell from his yacht while vacationing here in the VI.

His family has since claimed that it has been difficult getting the body back to the USA because of local bureaucracy.

A mean spirited response to another's tragedy. And during Christmas season? Just rotten.

Real class! I hope you never experience this type of tragedy. Sometimes it’s better to keep your mouth shut and have people think your an idiot than to open it and remove all doubt.

A lot of people do not know how strong an undercurrent can be. They try to swim back to shore straight, when they should be sideways allowing the tide to Bri g them back to shore. They get too tired and drown or have an heart attack. This is very very sad to go on vacation and never survive it. Condolences to both families.
