ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - As a fitting way of starting this week of Festival activities, Gospel Fest 2015 got underway at the Patsy Lake Festiville in Road Town last evening July 26, 2015 and saw an all-local line up of Gospel performers who all delivered.

Emceed by vibrant, lively and often times humourous Pastor Henderson K. Tittle, the show captivated the audience with the cast of all local performers. All the performers were backed by the High Frequency Band.

With the show coming to close by midnight, it was a packed four hours or so when the performances commenced with the Joy Praise Group, which had some spiritually uplifting pieces.

Then it was Pastor Denroy Gumbs who was the second act of the night. Taking to the stage, he threw it down with some serious rap flows giving praises to the One on high. One of his main pieces was entitled ‘That no make sense’ with the theme of the song being a life outside of Christ makes no sense to him.

Following his performance there was Susu, a bilingual (English/Spanish) gospel performer who performed songs in both languages to the delight of the audience. Commencing her performance, she said the spirit knows no barriers.

Next on stage was Gabrielle Hoyte who gave a number of renderings before DeAnna Wattley, considered by many as the headline act for the night, took to the stage and gave a stellar performance for the better part of an hour with a number of Gospel hits, including from the reggae genre.

The final performer for the night was Ishika Charles who also gave a very energetic and inspiring performance.

Chairman of the committee organising the Gospel Fest, Reverend Dr Melvin A. Turnbull gave a closing prayer at the end of the show. He noted people might have come there with a heavy heart. “It is important that you understand that you are not alone,” he urged.

“Let's keep doing this and make it better and better,” he encouraged the public, in relation to the show.

For the last lap performance - the one for the road - it was the immensely popular ‘I know who God says I am’ performed by DeAnna Wattley and Ishika Charles, much to the delight of the crowd which by that time had increased into the hundreds.

This is what the church is supposed to do. Lead the way by example. This is how you have good clean fun. Like Jesus who hung out with sinners so much, some called him a friend of sinners. Come on do some studying...smh...

Do some studying and read some non-fiction and you will understand the fiction book that you have been reading is pure nonsense.
The bible was written by a bunch of peasants who thought the world was flat, it is full of contradictions, atrocities, anger and if actually read makes not one iota of sense - except to the weak and brainwashed.

There is more evidence (non biblical evidence) for Jesus Christ then there is for Plato, Aristotle and Socrates. The chances are based solely on evidence that Julius Ceaser is more of a fake than Jesus Christ is. You say that the Bible is full of contridictions - please name them, objective research will prove you not the Bible are wrong. I challenge you to step out from behind your online bravery (internet toughness) and make your claims public in a forum of open debate. I will pay for the air time, you can speak freely and bring all of your evidence I challenge you to prove that the Bible is pure non sense. You can't and you know that you can't.

I just knew you had to show up and comment, once it has something to do with God. You have such hatred for anything Godly that i can sense such anger and bitterness in all your comments. Fool don't you know you are fighting a loosing battle. No matter how much you want to deny God you cannot cancel out the billions and billions of persons who has TESTED, TRIED and PROVEN that GOD IS. The bunch of peasants you talk about has more common sense than you and wiser by countless degrees. So keep telling yourself the Bible is fiction it is this very word that will condemn you on the day of judgement. Tell me something, if the foot say that because i am not the hand i am not part of the body does that make the foot correct?

I don't see you on here telling people they are brainwashed to believe in Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, Satun etc. written by the same men who thought the earth was flat and how about the atlas? Have you ever visited these places or even come in contact with anyone who lives in some of these places. No, yet you believe in them? Thou fool! My bible tells me - the fool hath said in his heart there is no God. On the authority of the word of God I call you a fool.

Nobody isn't worshipping the devil. People come together once a year to have some fun, plain and simple. You all complain about BVI boring and there is nothing to do. Festival activities have nothing to do with the devil. Too many of you keep Satan alive by bringing him into everything. Go sit down with your nonsense.

    Emancipate yourself from mental slavery,
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.

With all due respect when you are writing about my King of kings and Lord of Lords - Jesus, please capitalize His name. His name is Jesus not jesus.

All of talking about gospel fest in the festival. I don't see anything wrong with, not coming to the show doesn't make you a better Christian than anyone else. Because you are now sitting there condeming those who went. Hypocrites, acting like you all of that. Those local singers did an excellent job. All of you did well. Keep it up.
