All Ah Wee’s playoff chances in doubt
East and the Legs are already confirmed and the Kings just have to beat the Hawks to grab third place with a 5-2 record. All Ah Wee’s forfeiture means they have now finished the regular season with a 4-3 record and if the Blazers now beat both East and the Legs they too will finish 4-3 in the 'Back on Our Feet; Short and Sweet' League.
What remains unclear is the method to be used to split teams with identical records, but Head to Head determination would send All Ah Wee into the post season.
In the Junior Division, the Spartans still remain mathematically in contention for a place in the play offs, but their future is out of their hands to a degree after losing to Mad Mix on Wednesday, 83-60.
The Spartans led 20-17 at the end of the first quarter and were causing the Champions elect all sorts of problems defensively. However the Mix had a strong second quarter led by Glenal Layne to lead 42-34 at the break.
The game slipped further from the Spartans grasp in the second half as they were outscored 41-26.
Neville Smith Junior top scored for the Mix with 20 points and 6 rebounds, Jasin Rhymer Junior added 14 with 4 rebounds and 5 steals, Glenal Layne doubled with 12 points and 14 rebounds, whilst Joash Victor finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
The Spartans top scorer was Hakeem Penn with 19 points and 29 rebounds, Requan Fahie notched 16 with 20 rebounds, 3 blocks, 4 steals, 3 assists and Vadelle Ibel had 8 points with 8 rebounds.
